The supply and installation of Cliff Orchard glazing.
This amazing stand out project is located within the English Riviera of Torquay, overlooking the beautiful seaside town of Paignton.
Due to the location of this property the glazing systems had a huge part to play on this build.
Southern Design Windows carried out an in-depth inspection to assess the location of each item to check suitability for the inevitable harsh weather conditions that this property will need to withstand.
Following this inspection and evaluation we proposed a high weather grade system is required with marine grade powder coated aluminium being the main point we raised as being a must for this property. We also required to take into consideration the dream the client had of having extremely slim sightlines on the large sliding doors to not take away from their amazing view.
One of these sliders required to span over a 7.5m opening so we needed to propose something that ticked every box of the client whilst also not inhibiting the weather and thermal performance of the property.
From our experience and industry knowledge, we know Slimline systems are more suited to areas protected from the elements. Fortunately these items were underneath a veranda and after a check with our manufacturer the location was deemed suitable for the Cor-vision sliders boasting a 20mm interlock sightline.
On the floor above we didn’t have the luxury of a veranda protecting the glazing systems, so we recommended the tried and tested Reynaers CP130 lift and slide doors to cope with the weather conditions fitted with SKN solar control glass to protect the upstairs from the baking summer sun.
The customer was extremely happy with the end result and our hard work that went into making sure every precautionary measure was taken to enhance the useability of these sliding doors and ensure they’re long lasting, easy to use and the main thing look amazing. All of which wouldn’t have been possible without the experience we have accumulated over the years of trading and specialising in the highest end homes in our local area.
